Q: Why does each parent get a separate username and password?

A: You may share accounts within a family as you see fit. However, K12Planet creates an account for each parent who has custody of a student. This is useful for families when the student does not live with a particular parent or guardian fulltime.

Q: Who may have a K12Planet account and who can see my student's information?

A: Parents or guardians who have custody of a student are the only people who may have an account with K12Planet to see that's student's information. If you do not have access and believe that you should, or if you believe someone who should not have an account has access to your child's information, please contact your student's school immediately.

Q: I have more than one student. Why do I have different usernames and passwords for each?

A: K12Planet creates accounts for each parent or guardian of a student who has custody of each student. If you have more than one student at the same school you can "combine" an account so that you can see multiple students with a single username and password. For detailed instructions download the "Quick Guide for Parents" or watch the interactive tutorial.

A: Instructions on how to combine accounts are in the Quick Reference for Parents.

Q: Why can't I combine my accounts?

A: If you have students attending different schools (example: a 7th grader at GMS and a freshman at GHS), then K12Planet will not let you combine accounts. This is a limitation of K12Planet based on how accounts are stored.

Q: My middle school student is about to start high school. Will I be able to use the same account for K12Planet?

A: No. K12Planet stores accounts based on which school a student attends. When I child moves to a different school, new K12Planet accounts are created.

Q: My family moved or left Goshen Schools for a period of time and then returned. Can I use the same username and password that I used before?

A: No. When you move or leave Goshen Community Schools your account is removed from K12Planet. When you return you will be given a new username and password.

Q: Will my K12Planet account ever expire?

A: Yes. When your student(s) leave Goshen Community Schools your account will be removed. If your student changes schools within Goshen Community Schools you will need to contact your school about getting a new account.

Why aren't my child's grades the same on their report card as they are on K12Planet?

A: In most cases report card grades should match what you will see as a final grade in K12Planet. However, final grades may be changed due to a number of reasons. Final report card grades are a more reliable source of grading information/progress. If you have concerns about a discrepancy, please contact your child's teacher.
