A: Visit the K12Planet website and log in using your username and password. For detailed instructions download the Quick Guide for Parents or watch the interactive tutorial.
A: To access K12 Planet you must have a username and password. These will be distributed at the beginning of the academic school year for GMS and GHS. If you did not receive a username and password, you will have to go to the school in person and request it from the school secretary. This procedure is in place to protect your student's privacy.
A: Usernames and passwords will be distributed at the beginning of the academic school year for GMS and GHS. If you did not receive a username and password, you will have to go to the school in person or call the school and request that that the information is sent home with your student.
A: Currently K12 Planet is only available to parents of GMS and GHS students. K12Planet usernames and passwords were sent home to Goshen Middle School Parents with Second Trimester 2007-2008 report cards and to Goshen High School Parent with Third Grading Period report cards.
A: It takes time for teachers to enter grades and different classes may record grades more (or less) frequently than other classes. If you are concerned about not seeing grades and think that you should be or you are concerned about your child's progress you are urged to contact his/her teacher.
A: Currently only teachers at GMS are required to post assignments.
A: K12Planet handles forgotten password requests. Go to the login screen and request that your password is emailed to you. If you have not entered an email address into K12 Planet, you will have to go to the school in person or call the school and request that that the information is sent home with your student.

A: Instructions how to change your username and password are in the Quick Reference for Parents.
A: You may share accounts within a family as you see fit. However, K12Planet creates an account for each parent who has custody of a student. This is useful for families when the student does not live with a particular parent or guardian fulltime.
A: Parents or guardians who have custody of a student are the only people who may have an account with K12Planet to see that's student's information. If you do not have access and believe that you should, or if you believe someone who should not have an account has access to your child's information, please contact your student's school immediately.
A: K12Planet creates accounts for each parent or guardian of a student who has custody of each student. If you have more than one student at the same school you can "combine" an account so that you can see multiple students with a single username and password. For detailed instructions download the "Quick Guide for Parents" or watch the interactive tutorial.
A: Instructions on how to combine accounts are in the Quick Reference for Parents.
A: If you have students attending different schools (example: a 7th grader at GMS and a freshman at GHS), then K12Planet will not let you combine accounts. This is a limitation of K12Planet based on how accounts are stored.
A: No. K12Planet stores accounts based on which school a student attends. When I child moves to a different school, new K12Planet accounts are created.
A: No. When you move or leave Goshen Community Schools your account is removed from K12Planet. When you return you will be given a new username and password.
A: Yes. When your student(s) leave Goshen Community Schools your account will be removed. If your student changes schools within Goshen Community Schools you will need to contact your school about getting a new account.
A: In most cases report card grades should match what you will see as a final grade in K12Planet. However, final grades may be changed due to a number of reasons. Final report card grades are a more reliable source of grading information/progress. If you have concerns about a discrepancy, please contact your child's teacher.
